Review of The Substitute (2007) by Bill C — 15 Nov 2008
This surprisingly spooky foreign film will keep you on the edge of your seat. No, the character buildup isn't stellar, and certain subplots go undeveloped, but overall you will find this film to be a delightful respite from the typical American horror flick.
The premise is simple: a class of students suspects that their long-term substitute teacher is not human. Okay, sounds like a knock-off of, "My teacher is an Alien"--a fairly popular kid's book, but give this movie a try: you will be pleased.
