Review of The Subject Was Roses (1968) by Andrejs P — 21 Jan 2012
A young Martin Sheen and Patricia Neal (from Hud) do the film version of a play about interaction between father mother and son. Yep only three actors and for the most part it takes place in one setting, their home.
The movie is very dialog driven and its pretty obvious this movie started out as a play. So if that's not your cup of tea you won't like this movie. All three actors were great in their roles.
Just for the record, I find something very hot about Patirica Neal in her younger years (Hud, A Face in the Crowd). Cant quite put my finger on it.....maybe its just her overall presence.
