Review of The Story of O (1975) by Gavin — 03 Apr 2012

I can't decide whether this is an interesting exploration of the themes of love and boundaries or whether it is just an excuse for lots of sexual shots and scenes. There is definitely a feeling that more is going on than is being portrayed, which is probably where the book outshines the movie.

I may well read the book to see what was missing. Although quite tame in detail, it does seem to convey the sense of sexual control in O's life. Thought provoking.
