Review of The Special Relationship (2010) by Andrew M — 04 Oct 2010
Really rather liked this look at the Blair-Clinton relationship, amidst the Kosovo crisis, and the Monica Lewinsky scandal. Lots of very good actors doing perfect impressions of the real life politicians, and some scenes that you really hope did take place in real life.
Much more engaging than 'The Queen' in which Michael Sheen was terrific as Blair, but where the tedious story of royals doing royal things had little to say. This has lots to say, mainly about what happens next - with Blair evolving over the course of the story into the kind of man who will get into bed with Bush and wage war against tyrants even without justifiable evidence.
