Maybe because I'm the parent of a pre-teen, I found the story to be disturbing. However, I loved how the characters developed, I think the young actresses did wonderful job, the representation of the time felt very authentic.
Good movie for adults and teens of a certain age--good opportunities for parents to talk to kids about pursuing goals, but setting healthy boundaries in doing so, drug use, peer pressure, etc.
