Review of The Naughty Nineties (1945) by Tristan D — 12 Nov 2008
Slapstick, wordplay, classic routines and a never ending assault of laughs. An absolutely charming Abbott and Costello film. Henry Travers is a welcome addition to the cast and the final chase seems less contrived than in other films.
The "Who's on First?" presentation is not just the best performance of the bit and the best part of the film but it just radiates with magic from start to finish. A true cinematic gem.
