Review of The Mysterious Geographic Explorations of Jasper Morello (2005) by Ariel B — 06 Jun 2007
The animation is to die for--it's one of those works that you just can't get out of your head. Though the short-film format prevents as much plot detail as one might desire, it ultimately proves advantageous in that the scenes are intense and never dull.
The work in itself is truly thought-provoking (especially when in comes to "what-if" scenarios) and, to an odd extent, believable as far as core issues of human nature and action go. Overall, the film has a great feel to it--creative and effective, while simultaneously having some substance to it, which I don't believe is any small feat.
