Review of The Mighty Quinn (1989) by Tom H — 30 May 2009
One of those films hardly anyone has seen but probably ought to. Washington plays a Caribbean police chief who has to try and arrest his elusive best friend (Townsend) who is also the island's top theif.
He has information pertaining to the Contra war (then winding down in Nicaragua) specifically dealing with drug money and laundering; stuff that the CIA does not want getting out. Washington's character's last name is Quinn and the islanders call him "the Mighty Quinn" after the Bob Dylan song.
