Review of The Mambo Kings (1992) by Sv G — 29 Mar 2009
I enjoyed this story of two brothers who left Cuba for America in the 1950s in search of fortune and fame. The elder brother is played by Armand Assante. He is flashy and social and star-struck. The younger brother is played by Antonio Banderas.
He is more the artist, the composer and still longing for more simple things and the girl he left behind in Cuba. Beautiful story on several levels. Great performances...and truly? Armand Assante and be-still-my heart Banderas?.
..I could have enjoyed with the sound off!
