Review of The Lodge (2008) by Joel J — 16 Oct 2008
We actually rented this on a whim at the Kroger for a dollar, and it was SO much better than we expected. Instead of just a semi-scary film that would keep us in the Halloween spirit, we got a pretty creepy thriller that was amazingly realistic (most horror movies are so over-the-top these days). Kevin McClatchy is great as the lead villain, and Mandi Kreisher is just plain EERIE as the sedastic side kick. Owen Szaba and Elizabeth Kell are believable as the sexy, naive victims - what can I say? This is a sleeper that will surprise even the toughest of critics.
- 6.5.
