Review of The Invitation (2016) by Brandon W — 16 Aug 2016
This is a really good movie. It's mainly a mystery and suspense movie but has a huge element of psychological thriller, and to that effect it was masterfully done. and even though you know something's going to happen, this movie does an excellent job getting you there.
and putting you inside the head of the main character. Between the history the main character shares with his ex-wife and the last few seconds of the ending, this movie has a lot going on in it really.
Kudos to the writer and the director they did really good job developing the characters despite how many of them there were - something that adds to the effect when the movie climaxes. It does have it's weird moments.
At times you will question what genre this movie is. As long as you don't go in expecting a slasher film or a film where everything is laid right on the table in the beginning - You won't walk away disappointed.
It's one of those films best left understated.
