Review of The Groove Tube (1974) by Brian P — 13 May 2008
I still count "Kentucky Fried Movie" as my favorite film of all time... but its predecessor comes close. The fact that it opens and closes on Curtis Mayfield's "Move On Up" scores points right there.
The sketches are gratuitous and completely over the top; only a couple of dead spots keep this from overtaking KFM as my favorite.
