Review of The Greasy Strangler (2016) by Rick B — 27 Jan 2016

I saw the premier of this at Sundance last night, and I think I'm more dumber--stupider?--because of it. I gave it a 3-star rating, because I chortled throughout the first half. Actually, it was more of a shocked "I can't believe they just showed that" nervous laugh.

But at any rate, it started out being very entertaining. It's like a couple of 12-year old boys got together, smoked weed, and wrote a movie. Now I'm not opposed to that--just hard to sustain that type of humor for 90 minutes.

If this were a 30-minute short, it would have been perfect. But all said, it'll probably become a cult classic. And I'll probably end up showing this to friends at some late-night boozy party at some point.
