Review of The Front Line (2011) by Delphinus C — 17 Feb 2012
I almost hate to give a war movie 5/5, but this one is incredible. Perfectly shot, perfectly acted, with a story unique to the setting. Actually, It's not 'perfectly shot' - It's better than perfect, particularily those rotation shots, they sent shivers down my spine. It takes a lot for a movie to touch me emotionally, and this one, with it's bittersweet moments throughout, and it's charismatic characters, did a fine job of it.
The Front Line is told mostly from the South Korean side, but by no means is it ever propagandist. The main theme is that of how war itsself is the enemy, and not either of the conflicting parties.
