The Demon Murder Case certainly gets points for being one of the darkest made-for-TV horror movies out there. It has that going for it. It also features a young Kevin Bacon, whose success was right around the corner with Footloose.

It also has Andy Griffith and Cloris Leachman in minor roles. And, well, that's about it. It's not a very good movie, per se. Even when the violence finally comes towards the end of the film, you can barely tell that anything happens.

Filled with lots of questionable acting and an ending that's far from satisfying, the movie just doesn't hold up very well. It probably captivated those who watched it at the time, but it's nothing more than an Exorcist clone disguised as a movie about a troubled boyfriend, I guess.

It's more of a curiosity than anything because of its cast, like a lot of made-for-TV movies from this era.
