Review of The Debt Collector (1999) by Sebastian G — 19 Mar 2008
This is a seriously brilliant film with two powerhouse performances. Billy Connolly is as brutal and terrifying as one can imagine a man, and Ken Stott manages to be a loathsome yet somehow compelling man of the law.
There is nothing simple and straight-forward, there is no black and white, or simple good and evil. Complex and compelling, this film is a masterpiece that far too few bother seeking out. But if you do, it is absolutely worthwhile.
It is one of the best films I've seen.
