Review of The Dead (2010) by Wilhelm H — 15 Oct 2011
In the category of Zombie Movies, this is for sure one of the best ones. In the tradition of George A. Romero, "The Dead" creates a creepy atmosphere with slow moving Zombies who are, nevertheless, very threatening.
The pictures of Africa are amazing and the movie avoids cliches and shows a very human side of this beautiful continent. But still: there are the Living Dead and they are creating a sense of goose pimples not felt since the Eighties.
"The Dead" is slow, gory, but the consistent sense of threat that is in the air, combined with a realistic approach, makes it one of the best genre movies so far! Sequel? Yes. Please!
