Review of The Day of the Jackal (1973) by Scott W — 04 Jun 2007

I read the book a few years ago. it wasn't really all that exciting, even though it apparently made quite a splash when it was published. we're probably too jaded now. the remake with bruce willis was stupid, but I figured i'd give the older one a try, i'm glad I did because across the movies and book, the '73 movie was the most fun.

some of the cinemaphotography is quite good; good use of lighting contrasts and shot framing. Badel is great as a subtly Colombo-type figure.
