Review of The Daughter (2015) by Peter F — 25 Mar 2016
Most of the better films seen over recent months and longer have been based on actual events and they have been more satisfying than fictional ones. The daughter certainly did not alter this view as it seems implausible in lots of scenes and plenty of screaming scenes and what seemed contrived situations. For example, a door banging leads straight to an empty gun cupboard and then a race to a distant warehouse arriving too late.
The only character that came across OK was played by Sam Neil, but why was his character, Walter, living in the yard of his son's pretty good looking home in a beat up caravan.
So overall just didn't like the film much.
