Review of The Dark Horse (2014) by Dave C — 29 Jun 2016
A chess champion suffering bi-polar disorder finds a purpose in life coaching kids in a chess club against poverty, low expectations and gang culture.
Yes, it's cliché of feelgood film making but equally it is a very good true story (or close) and with enough charisma and heart to keep any cheesiness away.
A touch long, but worthwhile.
