Review of The Damned United (2009) by Marina G — 21 Mar 2010
This is an extremely enjoyable film, however, if you are like me and know next to nothing about FC, you may have to watch a few bits repeatedly to figure out wtf is going on. I think I had to backtrack 3 times, but I'm sure if you are fans of Leeds, you won''t have to backtrack at all.
Anyway, Michael Sheen is complex and funny and a bit melancholy as the famous manager, Brian Clough, and the relationship with his stalwart assistant played by Timothy Spall is the highlight of the film.
I really did love this film and followed it up with 3 more FC-themed films so I'm basically an expert now. Really.
