Review of The Cousins (1959) by Michael D — 01 Aug 2012
Les Cousins is one of the more emotionally accessible French New Wave films I've seen. The simple story is brilliantly laden with a state of disenchantment towards an infinitely decadent way of life engulfing the innocence, as symbolized by the relationship between the two polar opposites Paul and Charlies.
The tragic ending also turns out to be quite poignant.
