I have read the books and always knew that you could never really make them into a film. How right I was. Posiibly now you could do it but not back when this film was made. I was very disappointed. I admire the director for having the gumption and ambition to attempt to make this film but he missed by a long shot in producing the goods.
The books are a lot better!
