Review of The Cake Eaters (2007) by Rob C — 11 Oct 2009
I love the general plot to the film, but was disappointed on the running time. It had such a great character buildup, but then it ended just like that. I would like to have seen how the relationship turned out between Aaron Stanford and Kristen Stewart.
Or maybe how her parents would of felt about it. I've only ever seen Stanford in the X-Men series as Pyro and seeing this film showcases his diversity as an actor. But, the main character here has to be Georgia (Kristen Stewart), a teenage girl with Friedreich's Ataxia; an incurable disease that effects coordination and speech.
Her sole purpose in life was to experience "love" before she died. Each character had their own story to tell, but the film belonged to Stewart and Stanford.
