Review of The Birth of a Nation (2016) by Cornelius V — 07 Oct 2016
I think Nate Parker did an excellent job of visually breaking down the emotions running through Nat Turner leading up to his realization that he had witnessed enough. The conversations had seemed believable and I hope the world will now view Nat Turner as more than just a slave who killed his oppressors.
He was a man with feelings, a family, and some sense of self-worth.
