Review of The Backwoods (2006) by Kristal C — 28 Aug 2009
Low-budget hide-and-seek flick, a paintball scenario turned deadly, this film needed just a hint of smarts to turn into a cult classic. As it is, the only thing "classic" are the cliches, including a heroine who is chased through a forest in an outfit that stays sparkling white.
The thesis is all too plausible--SPOILER--touristas stumble across meth freaks cooking in a national reserve, which is not uncommon. But these crank canners spout Bible phrases and grunt a lot in what turns into "The Hillbillies Have Eyes.
