This was like Home Alone meets The Purge meets Superbad. It was equal parts terrifying, hilarious and heartwarming. There are two well crafted love stories in here, which brings a lot more heart to the proceedings than you might first be expecting. Cole's journey from hapless, bullied nerd to the badass offspring of Kevin McAllister and John McClane is fantastically done.
Really was pure joy to watch from start to finish. So much so that this goes in my bucket of favourite coming of age movies, right alongside Super 8 and The Goonies.
