Review of The American Scream (2012) by Randy T — 25 Nov 2012
A fascinating look at what goes into the creation of a local haunted house. Unfortunately, only one of the people being documented is actually interesting. He gives it everything he has, and its a joy to see him emotionally rewarded.
The other two, however, are incredibly uninteresting. They lack both the passion and intelligence required to create something truly interesting, and instead the movie shows them piling junk in their yards in an attempt to be somewhat scary.
They, sadly, drag the film down. Regardless, the film perfectly captures the joys of Halloween, and the spirit of the people who give it their all to make it the most memorable night of the year.
