Review of Tennessee (2008) by )I(Jen B — 13 May 2008
Directed by Aaron Woodley and written by Russell Schaumburg, we enter the world of the Armstrong brothers. Carter (Adam Rothberg) drives a cab and drinks himself to sleep. Ellis (Ethan Peck) takes photographs of the local New Mexico landscape.
When Ellis is diagnosed with leukemia, the brothers head to Tennessee and their estranged father, a possible bone marrow match. Along the way, they encounter Krystal (Mariah Carey), a depressed waitress who wants to be a singer and suffers the tortures of her abusive state trooper husband.
As Ellisâ?? condition rapidly deteriorates, the three head for Tennessee to confront the past and look for hope for their futures.
