Review of Temple Grandin (2010) by Katha R — 02 Jan 2011
Absolutely incredible, amazing biopic of Temple Grandin's life as a young woman (focussing on the years between 19 and 30). What a shame that this film and leading actress will not be seeing any Oscars as this film was actually made for cable by HBO (more kudos for them!!).
Claire Danes' portrayal of Temple Grandin, the most high profile autistic person in the US, is brilliant. Having seen TG on television and heard her on radio shows, I can confirm that this is a very accurate depiction of TG's autism and personality (which are obviously closely intertwined).
I would highly recommend this film to anyone with the slightest interest in autism, cattle handling or fascinating life stories. Top marks all round!
