Review of Teenage Cave Man (1958) by Wes S — 24 Apr 2009
MST3K version. This movie should be Annette Funicello meets the Leakey family, with some kind of prehistoric rock and roll band appearing at some point. Instead it is as dull as watching paint dry and as pretentious as an early Smiths song. Even die-hard Robert Vaughn fans (is there such a thing?) should avoid this stinker. You'd be better off watching "The Pebbles and Bam-Bam Show".
The MST3K folks have a bit of a hard time making it funny in the last 20 minutes or so, as the plot drags to a glacial pace, but overall they do a fun job. They do put two hilarious short films at the beginning to pad out the time, and the riffing on those is top notch.
