Review of Swimming to Cambodia (1987) by Cheryl R — 19 Jan 2008
This is one of the greatest spoken word short stories of all time. Beyond the incredible insights it gives in its simple, straightforward telling of the fall of Cambodia after the Americans' withdrawl, it gives you a picture of a human being who is so plugged into the experience of living, he cannot live.
I miss Spaulding Gray and whenever something happens in the world, I will always wonder how he might have told the story.
