Review of SuperBob (2015) by David M — 25 Jan 2016
Ah, Superhero movies.
Usually coming out of Hollywood, usually have a large cast, lots of destruction, and a large budget.
This has none of that.
Rather, this comes out of the UK, and follows the Worlds Most Powerful man (who identifies himself as a Civil Servant rather than a superhero) over the course of his UN-mandated day off, and is instead a low-key RomCom rather than the large overblown excess of an action movie.
While I initially found the documentary style a little off-putting, this is gradually dropped in favour of a more regular filming style - it's also no surprise where the film ends up, with the fun more in the journey than in the destination.
