Review of Summer Hours (2008) by Deepak M — 16 Jan 2010
French films -- at least the few I've seen -- have an amazing quality that sets them apart from American ones. They have an intense focus on human beings -- their characters, their relationships, their emotions.
The events are always depicted in the background, and are often mundane everyday happenings. That makes watching a French movie like L'Heure d'été a necessity after watching several American ones in a row.
