Review of Sugar (2008) by Michael O — 01 Sep 2009
Moving to a new country, so fabled, so built up, after an entire childhood dedicated to practice and dreams and work and sweat can be a trying, disillusionary transition in life. Sometimes our hope for something can fade when we are faced with the hard, lonesome reality that lies imbedded our aspiration's true face.
If our heart and mind cannot endure it any longer we have to run and hid and suffer under a different shade; that of lament and regret. Yet, if we are strong, we can persevere and with more luck still we can perceive what good we have around us.
How far we've gone. How much more is left. How we're not alone.
