Review of Spring Breakers (2013) by Cameron J — 20 Jan 2015
UPDATE: After over a year, it's one of the hardest films to forget.
It's hard to decide whether all of the images in "Spring Breakers" are necessary to advance the social commentary or indulgences from a gross director. Regardless, the images come full and fast and are incredibly effective in creating a melancholy image of spring break which is an effective look at our generation. James Franco and Selena Gomez give Oscar-worthy and career-changing performances, respectively. Also, some of the best cinematography I've ever seen; it's certainly the most swell-colored movie I've ever seen.
