Review of Spike Island (2012) by Mal K — 22 Jun 2013
A great well rounded coming of age teen movie showcasing the feel and attitudes of the time. Film had laughs, tears and action.
I'm probaby biased being from Widnes, but all that aside, I was surprised it had depth. I was expecting some lads trying to figure out to get into the concert, but found it to be multi layered, with romance, bromance, comedy, tradgedy and action. The characters were beleivable and the setting/atmosphere was point perfect.
Hats off to Mat Whitecross and Chris Coghill for a great film.
