This is what CGI should be used for. Not to make something more realistic but for a creative purpose and this film uses it well. I almost wish they kept Racer X as not Rex Racer. It was an interesting twist that Speed Racer fans were not expecting and I was disappointed in the end when he turned out to be Rex Racer.
