Review of Sorry to Bother You (2018) by Scheli B — 15 Oct 2018
Sorry to Bother You is amazing. It's George Saunders meets Do The Right Thing in style. In subject, its original and important, championing a modern vision of the labor movement in a not so unfamiliar future where large corporations have tipped the power scales so far against workers that they are signing their lives away for the guarantee of any kind of "worry free" job security.
The film is a voice we need at the time when we need it most. It's smart, totally original (both in style and in the topics it tackles) and thought provoking. It was my favorite film of the year and I hope it opens the floodgates for more films reflecting on America's unique brand of late-stage capitalism.
