Review of Some Mother's Son (1996) by John D — 01 Dec 2008
Despite being George's project, it suffers from Sheridan's heavy handed production touches throughout. If this is 1979, then why do the MI5 boys look like they walked straight from the set of 'Law And Order'? That and other faux pas aside, the story itself doesn't really take off until the manichean dynamics of personal relationships come into play, allowing George's own artisitic will to be respected a little more.
Ultimately it could've been something special, had the wider binaries been afforded a more subtle direction.
