Review of Some Kind of Hate (2015) by Sylvester K — 18 Sep 2015
It's not a classic tale of bullying, but it's one that adds a few extra elements that make it more than watchable. The bleak setting, the dark characters, and an actively intelligent "monster" make "Some Kind of Hate" enjoyable, but nothing tremendous.
The biggest fault I found was the school itself- it's for borderline criminal youths, yet they have no structured classes, no adult supervision outside of these "group therapy" like sessions, and they can essentially do whatever they want to.
And yet, teachers and police alike are surprised so many kids end up dead? Not believable, but certainly not a death knell for a decent movie.
