Review of Snow Cake (2006) by Hao L — 13 Mar 2008
Thought provoking yet full of subtle humors. Sigourney Weaver proves her heavy-weight acting skills in portraying a brutally honest autistic mother. Her autism enables her to live the present moment unchained from crippling emotions.
Alan Rickman plays an emotionally troubled man haunted by the past. The two rich characters brought together by a twist of fate contrast in ways of dealing with loss. He finds much to learn from this seemingly disabled woman.
Great movie!
