Review of Sicario (2015) by Angel V — 25 Jan 2016
Sicario is a brutal and intense film masterfully directed by Denis Villenueve. I have been a big fan of him and this is another great film in his credentials. I loved Prisoners and Enemy, and I also loved Sicario.
The performances in this film are top notch. Emily Blunt shines in the lead role. Josh Brolin also is very good in his role. But Benicio Del Toro steals the show in his very mysterious role. These three performances are great.
The cinematography is gorgeous. Roger Deakins, as usual, brings beautiful cinematography. I especially loved the "tunnel" scene. This is a beautifully shot film that racks up a lot of tension from the opening scene.
This is one not to be missed.
