Review of Shut Up and Play the Hits (2012) by Ben K — 18 Jul 2012
Simply an incredible movie, hands down the best concert movie I've ever seen. Not only does the film focus on the sold out final show of LCD Soundsystem at Madison Square Garden, it goes in-depth into the following morning after the show, truly capturing the essence of a demise of a band in a way never seen before.
An interview with James Murphy is spread throughout the movie as well, showing a funny, but also interesting side to his personality. This bittersweet, emotional goodbye for both the fans and the band will leave you wanting more, but in the best way possible.
