Review of Shuddh Desi Romance (2013) by Sabena A — 05 Sep 2013

It's a brave attempt at reinventing the romantic bollywood wheel, but a weak script & not so coherent second half doesn't leave you satisfied. As for performances, Parineeti Chopra is excellent & very real while Sushant singh is impressive.

Rishi Kapoor again steals the show while the other actress does well in looking pretty. Few songs seemed forced, but the cinematographer beautifully captures the colors of Jaipur! There are many whistle blowing dialogues & moments & the film does succeed in pleasing the crowd till the first half! But, by the end the shuddhta & desipana looks too repetitive.

A decent one-timer!
