Review of Sherrybaby (2006) by Kyle W — 13 Feb 2008
An outstanding performance by maggie gyllenhaal, one for the ages. her best performance since secretary. you were clinged by her side the entire way as she struggles to reconnect with her daughter after being in prison for many years.
the main character has that "white trash" appearence and mentality that she doesn't belong in a society in which her daughter was raised. the bond between her and her family still brings along that tension and gap after numerous reconsiles.
it will take a long time for and her daughter to be as one again. an emotional film, a powerhouse film. one with masterful acting, that will make sherrybaby go down as one of the best performances by an actress ever.
a sensational ending that leaves you in tears. I loved this film.
