Review of Sexy Beast (2001) by Waldo I — 14 Aug 2008

I absolutely love this movie. Sometimes stylish direction is forced and servers its own purpose, but in this movie it's absolute perfection - effective, brilliantly executed, and thought-out. On the top of that, the script is pure genius.

Sexy Beast follows the story of an ex-gangster (thief) living his peaceful retirement in Spain. He's disturbed by the arrival of Don Logan (marvelously played by Ben Kingsley), an old crime friend, trying to convince him to take another job back in England, and refusing to take no for an answer.

Ben Kingsley plays the role of his life and makes the most intimidating villain ever. The movie is mesmerizing and captivating from start to finish and leaves you fully satisfied. A must see!
