Review of Salesman (1969) by Mariah W — 23 Aug 2007
Very ahead of its time, especially in editing, but this documentary is hard to describe, and hard to guess who to recommend it to. It has funny parts but its not hilarious, its poignant and sad but not life crushing.
Its really just a complete story of what its like to be a traveling salesman, and in a larger sense a pretty neat time capsule of that era. A friend listed this in his top 10 movies of all time, and while I don't personally understand how that could be, its certainly a fine documentary under any decades' standards.
