Although I have lived all my life in India, the India shown in the movie came as a reality check. The use of a child as the lead protagonist and portrayal of his life alone in Bombay kept me in a state of shock for hours after the movie ended.
It has been a year since I saw the movie and I am yet to gather enough courage to see the stark reality in the movie again. Great work by Mira Nair! A totally deserved Oscar nomination!
