Review of Rosewater (2014) by Suzanne K — 16 Nov 2014
Simply brilliant. This film had no business being in any way humorous--to laugh while watching a film of this nature seems almost repugnant. But Stewart and all the actors make it work, thanks in large part to Bahari's own on-set consultation.
The subject matter is horrifying, but the film is eminently watchable. It shows humanity at its best, its worst, and even in its mediocrity and does so with tact and honesty.
